Mud_Island.JPG

5/31- Joe, Bill, and I take off for Memphis. We walked Beale Street and visited Mud Island Park.

View_from_tram.JPG

We took a tram to the park, crossing part of the Mississippi. The pyramid in the background is a venue for sporting events.

Mississippi_headwaters.JPG

Mud Island has a scale model of the Mississippi River. This wall shows some of the rivers that drain into the Mississippi. That's Bill walking in front of the wall.

Tracking_the_Mississippi.JPG

Shown here is a portion of the river. Everything was to scale with lots of interpretive information. The walk from headwaters to the Gulf was about a half mile- or felt like it!
